Refugees in America | WisCommunity

Refugees are men, women, and children fleeing war, persecution, and/or natural disasters who have crossed borders to seek safety and protection in another country. Refugees are protected by international law, and therefore, must not be expelled or returned to situations where their life and freedom are at risk. This session will consider why we must help and what we can learn from refugees. Additionally, the webinar will explore the resettlement process for refugees coming to the United States as well as the personal refugee experience of the presenter. This session will be facilitated by Dr. Damir Kovacevic, assistant professor of political science.Registration is required.
