National Native American Boarding School Day of Remembrance | WisCommunity

Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters originated in Canada and it is being transitioned into the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation this year. The National Native American Boarding School Day of Remembrance is not officially recognized in the US as a formalized day but Native communities are encouraging each other and non-Native allies to hold healing-informed events to honor boarding school survivors and victims and call for accountability of the Federal Indian Boarding School Policies. Please wear orange on September 30th to show solidarity with Indigenous communities and visit our memorial displayed in HHH 150.
