The Future of the Red Cedar Trail
On Thursday, February 10th, from 12:30-1:30 pm, Craig Fowler and Kevin Jacobson will discuss "The Future of the Cedar Side Trail." Fowler is the former Executive Director of the WITC Foundation and administrator of the Rice Lake campus. He has been involved with the Rice Lake Rotary Club since 1998, serving as President in 2005-06. Jacobson, a retired Optometrist, has been a Rotarian since 1986 and served as the club's President in 1995-96. Fowler will cover how Rice Lake Rotary Club became involved with the project, including an overview of the trail system, the importance of the trail, and the partnerships they have developed through this work in and for the community. Jacobson will talk about what the club is doing to eradicate buckthorn on the trail, as well as how they are partnering with the county in these efforts. They will end their presentation with an aerial video/virtual tour of the trail system. This and other sessions of the Thursdays at the U Lecture Series are free and open to the public, thanks to financial support from the campus foundation.
