Faculty Guest: Notorious Ensemble and The Torch Sisters | Wis.Community

University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Events

Torch Sisters is a collective group of female artists, burlesque dancers, fire spinners, and aerialists who love to create and perform together, supporting one another in friendship and flow arts. In 2019 Torch Sisters created and directed two sold-out shows: "La Caverne," performed at Pablo Center at the Confluence, inspired by the life and poetry of local turn-of-the-century poet Maud Phillips, and "Freudian Slip," a tantalizingly creative variety and burlesque show. They are continually innovating with new props and surprises in their performances to keep you on your toes. Torch Sisters love collaborating with various local artist, musicians, and venues. Elemental performers include Anna Bak, Kerri Kiernan, Sara Brunsell-Raehl, Fiona Coopman, Michelle Anthony, Montana Mattieson, Rachel Duffenbach, Avery Oja. Notorious. The name says it all. We're on a mission to show our audiences just how fun and exciting live music performances can be. We're unpredictable. From solo pieces to larger collaborative works, you'll experience impassioned performances of music for winds, strings, voice, and piano that honor tradition and push musical boundaries. Our ensemble personnel is a versatile confluence of select faculty and students from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire who enjoy the adventure, challenges, and delights of chamber music collaboration. A project of this size takes a village. We'd like to thank the following students, alumni, and faculty performers and collaborators for today's project: Ivy Anderson, Emma Blisset, Wesley Boehm, Julie DeBoer, Makai Fang, Benjamin Fraley, Jennifer Fraley, Christa Garvey, Erin Hisey, Reed Hoffman, Chiayu Hsu, Timothy Lane, Benjamin Mackie, Kristina Mienke, Abby Monreal, Sadie O'Leary, Alex Meffert, Kenneth Pereira, Amanda Profazier, Noah Reedy, Tulio Rondon, Joshua Schwalbach, Leighton Tuenge, Alex Widstrand, Elizabeth Wilson, Alistair Wright, Nobu Yasuda. This is a ticketed event.
