Many people are uncomfortable talking about politics. But why is that? Like many hot button issues, the answer lies in the baggage that comes with the topic.
If I have a natural curiosity about what you think, why would I not explore this simply because we disagree? Or, if you and I are as divided as everyone says we are, why should I even bother asking? (Especially when I know that you're 'wrong.')
During this discussion we will look at political conversation, what the hurdles are, and why talking politics is important, and may not be as difficult as you thought.
Rick is a retired physician and has done conflict resolution in his administrative roles at work. He has attended First Congregational since 2022. His interests also include peer counseling, which he has done for 25 years.
